Sample-based Max for Live instrument by Dillon Bastan that allows users to draw paths (made of small points) for sample playback over a spectrogram interface. I was commissioned to design presets for it, and decided to use an electro magnetic field recording samples as my starting point. I decided to use this kind of sample first of all because I loved the sonic outcome, the resulting presets are very noisy and textural, and potentially usable in every electronic music genre; but also to give more musicians access to these sounds that are impossible to acquire without specialized equipment .
